Hey, guys. I just wanted your opinions on what should be next for the Outlast series. Will Red Barrels make a third Outlast to tie the previous two games together? Will they stop making them and begin a new series? What do you guys think.

    • It's too early to tell if Outlast 3 will become a thing, but I won't be surprised if a DLC for Outlast 2 comes up if they wanted to make the story make more sense.

A DLC is necessary by now

    • Red Barrels' next move will definitely be a DLC, very likely starring Lynn. There's two days worth of her getting hunted, captured, and terrorized by the Testament and the Heretics, so there's plenty to work with. Red Barrels definitely knows of the plot-related backlash so the DLC will also probably clear everything up as Whistleblower did. It'll probably take eight months to a year. The Murkoff Account might continue as well, who knows.

It'll be interesting if they shed some light on who Jennifer Roland is.

It would be interesting if say some of the cultist or heretics made it to the facility seen from the lake. I think any DLC would mostly explain what Murkoff was doing there as they took a back seat this game as it was mostly about Blake and his past/saving his wife. My questions would be

Was this connected to Wallrider or was this a completely different experiment?

Were they sending messages through the towers aka were the voices their attempts at manipulation?

What was the fate of the Old Traveler?

    • If you read the comics you probably know if there's a DLC coming it will be about Paul Marion and Simon Peacock.

Temple Gate has nothing to do with Walrider. It's a whole another experiment by Murkoff. I suggest you to read comics.

    • I'll admit I'm not really happy about the ending, it fits the tone but even then it makes everything feel like there was no purpose to you even trying to save Lynn. Hopefully a dlc will come out and fix many of the problems with it.

    • As of right now, red barrels has tweeted that DLC is possible, but nothing is confirmed yet. https://twitter.com/TheRedBarrels/status/863069512207302656

I'm not sure how well the game did financially, but I believe it did well enough to warrent more outlast content, whether it is in the form of comics, or better yet DLC or another sequel.

Like people have been saying the ending was not satisfying; far too much was left for interpretation. We need something to tie up some of the loose ends like whistleblower did.

Hey as long as they can continue the story and make things more clear I'm all for it.

    • Outlast 2 + the new Murkoff Account #5 left a ton of questions unanswered.

Like most people, I'm also hella hoping for some sort of DLC (I agree with whoever said atop that it's still way to early for any sign of Outlast 3 or anything) but a DLC would seem appropriate, and it would/could answer a lot of questions the community has.

Ahh - I'm just really wanting anything new with Miles, The Pauls, and Val wowow.

    • Plus we never heard anything about Delilah, so overall it'll just be interesting to see where Red Barrels takes Outlast

Where did the name "Delilah" even come from anyway? I'm really not sure if that page is necessary.

    • Yeah, I'll go ahead and delete it right now. Deliah is just a meaningless background character mentioned in a note. She has no importance whatsoever.
