Messiah is an achievement/trophy in Outlast 2. To achieve it, the player must complete the game on Insane difficulty without reloading the camcorder's batteries. The difficulty has no checkpoints or saves, meaning that if the player dies, they will lose all of their progress and be forced to start from the beginning of the game.
Trivia[]
- In Abrahamic religions, a messiah (meaning 'the anointed one' in Semitic languages) is a person chosen either by a group of people or a deity to lead their followers to salvation or liberate them from an oppressive force. In the world of Outlast, in which the Testament of the New Ezekiel is a denomination of Christianity, this figure would be Jesus.
- Unlike its Outlast counterpart, the Messiah achievement was available on all platforms as oppose to being exclusive to the Xbox One console.
